BUSINESS MEETING AND BRIEFINGS will take place on Saturday morning at 8:30 in the Indianapolis Ballroom. The always brief meeting will be followed by an update on the JAG Corps and DA/DOD legal developments and the TJAGLCS commander will update us on the school and legal center. Following the briefings you can lunch on your own at any of the many downtown establishments before meeting at the hotel for our tour.

BUS TOUR will leave from the hotel at 1:00 pm (we should gather at 12:45) and take us to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where we will tour the Hall of Fame Museum and possibly take a tour around the track. Other stops may include the USS Indianapolis, Scottish Rite Cathedral, Congressional Medal of Honor, Soldiers and Sailors Monument, and ending at the Indiana War Memorial where we will have a briefing and a tour of the museum. For those with energy left, it is a pleasant walk back to the hotel. The rest of us will travel by bus!

SATURDAY EVENING you are free to try the varied restaurants downtown. The registration packet will contain a list of restaurants.

SUNDAY MORNING is free to sleep in, walk the canal, or attend church services at the historic Christ Church Cathedral, the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis, which is the oldest religious building in continuous use in Indianapolis and the oldest building on Monument Circle. Services are at 8:00 and 9:00 am. The closest Catholic Church is St. John the Evangelist, the oldest Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Mass is at 8:00 am (5:30 on Saturday evening).

LADIES LUNCHEON takes place at the Propylaeum, the oldest private club operated for and by women. The organization is housed in a beautiful Victorian home on historic Delaware Street. For lunch we’ll have a salad trio – Mandarin salad, potato salad, and a choice of chicken, tuna, or egg salad. Dessert will be angel food cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. After lunch we can tour the house on or own and then walk/drive down to the President Benjamin Harrison home. This home is a three-story Italianate mansion with a two story carriage house. Although the home has an elevator and ramps and so can accommodate wheelchairs, there will be a fair amount of walking and standing for those on foot. There are benches in the upper and lower hallways for those who need a rest. The tour will take about an hour. We will carpool to the Propylaeum and walk or drive to the Harrison house. Those who do not wish to tour the home can be taken back to the hotel.

MEN’S LUNCHEON will be at the Weber Grill, which is located one-half block from the hotel. The Weber Grill prepares everything on authentic charcoal kettles. The lunch will be served family style and will feature barbecue ribs and barbecue chicken, a mixed green salad, Maker’s Mark Bourbon baked beans, cornbread, coleslaw, and a beverage. After lunch the men are on their own to explore any of the downtown attractions, like the NCAA Hall of Champions, the Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, or the Faces of Lincoln exhibit at the Indiana Historical Society.

GOLF at Brickyard Crossing located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Pete Dye-designed course features four holes inside the oval. You can get a bite to eat at the course.
